OK ALL...VERY LONG, BUT WORTH READING
Let me first tell you...I was actually able to get a hold of someone today....Took a lot of calling and stomping around, and throwing "HISSY FITS" AND THREATENING, but what the heck it worked!!! A girls' gotta do what a girls' gotta do!!!LOL.
I did not get spectacular news. like I am sure you are holding your breath over, but better yet, solid news, so I am sure it will help in some of the questions, SO HERE GOES....
First off: Someone PM'd me today and then called me regarding their concern that they were given a physical address and went there to visit the co. and found not a whole heck of a lot, asked around and WORSE, found out not a whole heck of a lot, and noone had heard of them...No one knew about the co.!!!!????!!!?? So, let me address this first.
As you know, the co. used to be known as Gunner Energy, and is now Generation Entertainment. The address given was the old office, in which Joshua Ward used to be in charge of, and President of, Gunner Energy. They no longer exist, and a new sign soon which says Generation Entertainment, hopefully, with my VERY STRONG encouragement, will be put up shortly reflecting the new name, I HAVE BEEN PROMISED!!!. Ward is no longer with the company, per se, except if you read the PR's, he is acting in a consultant capacity, and so therefore, I would assume he holds shares.
People asked me about places mentioned like Chicago and Detroit, and their connection, while PR and news stated Arizona. Let me again reiterate, that those other cities reflect the new acquisitions and/or new blood that has come into the company. That is where they are/were housed.
Don't forget the company has, or will be bringing on, slipdisk-2k, as another acquisition, which is headquartered in Chicago, and is an offshoot of the legendary slipdisk. With it brings Dave Chackler, who is a 30-year veteran in the music industry, successfully linked with Queen, FleetwoodMac, and others, and Frank Chackler Sr. VP and GM has been associated with the management team of the music group Motely Crue for 4 yrs., and also David Bowie.
We also have the acquisition of Harvest and CopperSunRecords.
GNEN has also purchased CDmusic.com, and is currently, as we know updating their site, and will not only offer 198,000+ titles, but will also offer and use their site to promote their Harvest and Copper Sun Record labels. Plus if you review their PR, they are also intending to acquire other labels.
So as you can see, we have a multitude of companies and big name people with a ton of experience and successes coming together. There have been so many acquisitions and changes taking place recently, No wonder there is such confusion. but.....
The combination of the Chacklers and Craig's experience put forth a very dynamic and successful future for GNEN IMO.
Guth, who is Pres., dir. and CEO has 25 yrs. of experience with Dun and Bradstreet in sales and marketing alone.
Chacklers from slipdisk-2k (in Chicago) is affilated with Mercury Records and is an offshoot of the legendary slipdisk, and a list of successes as I stated earlier. Their list of successes if legendary and all should re-read the PR about them...It says it all.
So I hope in this summary, it will help to 1) Make things clearer and 2) see what direction we are going and who we are going with. and 3) Maybe alleviate some fear
NOW BACK TO TODAY'S CONCERNS:
Those hearing about other people in other states and cities and unable to contact people at the Scottsdale site...Not to worry. As I stated previously, the office in question at one time belonged to GUNNER ENERGY, which is no longer. It was a take over co.. There were leases involved, business names etc., and so the "office" stayed on during this transitional stage, as it was already paid for. I know people are having a hard time contacting someone at any of the published numbers you see on SI. But trust me, they are trying as hard as they can. Give them a week...There is no one at that particular number at the time, though they are trying as best they can to take the messages and answer calls. They are in the process of interviewing someone and plan on having them back at the "paid for" office temporarily. This person will be our contact, at leat temporarily. Why is there such a confusion??? The company plans on coming together offically and moving to the Bay area in California within the next 60 days. That is a great move for them...Why???? Because they feel it a a good place to establish their corporate quarters, as there is a lot going on in the music world all around that area, and that is the area they zeroed in on..That is the main reason why you will not find a whole lot in Arizona. With Gunner Energy gone and Generation Entertainment here, their plan is to move to a place that offers more opportunity and expose to the music world. But there will be a person to answer questions and take calls over in Arizona during their transition stage. We will hear about that hopefully next week. They are working very hard at that, as they know it is important.
As far as their site opening. I was told that their site would be open the first quarter of 1999. Not the first week in January or the month of January. But as I stated earlier in another post, there are rumors that we will be hearing something shortly. As this is a conflict in what people are saying, what I think is, that there will be news, but not necessarily about the website opening....But that is ok also, as I feel it will be good news and only enhance what is going on...I have heard it will be solid news!! So, possibly people out there are getting their news mixed up. NOT THE SITE NEWS...JUST NEWS
TO SUMMARIZE: HOW DO I FEEL ABOUT IT? MAN AM I EVER TIRED!!!! I HAVE SPENT COUNTLESS HOURS LOOKING INTO THINGS THAT PEOPLE HAVE ASKED ABOUT. NOW I HAVE A GOOD INDICATION OF THE DIRECTION THEY ARE GOING..THOUGHI MUST SAY, NO TECHNICALS WERE INVOLVED...So everyone.SEND ME YOUR QUESTION....I AM A GLUTTON FOR PUNISHMENT!
I will end this, that there is a lot more to be found out and a lot more growth-wise...I only brought you up to date co/pr wise as best I can. I hope it helps some of you...Would not want to think I lost three fingers typing all this stuff...
