Dick ; All of them have problems, but if your not into level II
trading, and just want e-trading, Waterhouse has most of her
bugs behind her, and is as reputable as they come.

I use their Web-Broker, now I don't know that they are much on
BB:OTC stuff as I don't trade them. But for what I do, I don't
think any one beats waterhouse they all have some give and take,
my option commissions are more than some, but my trades are $12
up to 5k, and even most limit orders are fast if I put at the
bid or ask, ( to avoid getting skewed in a fast market )

Also I want to compliment them in as much, as many times I have
gotten price improvements, just this week two times
I sold stock and got more than my offer, and once I bought and
got it below my bid. I am very impressed with the recent
speed, and the amount of price improvements I'm getting, but
I can't say they are trouble free, heck none of them are.

PS
They start you off with so many free real time quotes, and you
get so many more each time you trade, ( you can buy them if you
do happen to run out ) but please don't ask me the numbers
as I don't even count them any more, I not only haven't ever
run out I stoped looking once I got about 100000 in the free
bank, no way I can ever use my limit..of course I do trade
far more than the average person. I think that $12 deal may have me
trading more than I should. <G>

Richard J. Byrd: I spent over 2 1/2 hours on hold until I could get through to E*Trade. Bad fills, filing inquiries.
