My two cents on cable modems vs ADSL:

I think that we will have both for a while, I am holding PAIR and WSTL on the belief that telcos, if they want to survive, will have no choice but to invest heavily in technology that will allow them to compete head to head with cable, if they don't they are dead. I think during 1999 we will see a big acceleration in ADSL deployment; think about it, cable companies are going to be offering phone service, in addition to CATV and Inet access soon, do you really think the telco's are going to allow that to happen.

If nothing else, the rapid wide spread deployment of cable modems is accellerating the rollout of ADSL IMO; if telco's were not feeling the heat, they wouldn't be doing anything, but now that the cable compaines may start eating there lunch, they are being forced into action.

Long PAIR and WSTL; are there other ADSL companies I should be keeping any eye on?
