Francois,
When it is running it is going so fast it is hard to read the download speed. It is just a blur but to give you a bit of an idea....when I went in to download the smart update for Netscape communicator 6.0 it took 1 hour and 7 minutes. After I re-did my computer and hooked up to ADSL it took 12 minutes.
Loading Java used to be very slow....now it is almost instantaneous. It is suposed to be 200 times faster than normal internet connection.

All I know is it is fast and makes the old ISP connection look like a snail. And I got rid of one phone line.

About speed:

I have a 1.5 Mb/s cable modem. It's really only good for 250 kb/s max for a single file and about 400 kb/s for a multiple file download (4 files at 100 kb/s each at the same time). I'd like some numbers from ADSL user. I have access to both service here and I would so like to get rid of the #@$% 4 Gb/month transfert limit that I have with my cable connection.

Also, how is the reliability of ADSL? I sometime have to use my 56k modem because my cable connection died, often in critical part of the day (open/close).

(Chief will spank us for using his realtime thread talking about connections.) <ggg>
