Funk,

yes, still using DirecPC (Hughes) for satellite feed. It works very well. On a 56K modem it use to take several seconds to load a stock box, now they load in 1 second. Plus there is very little lag except for first few minutes when lag is due to NASDAQ not the connection.

Given a choice, I would rather have a ASDL line or cable modem, but neither are available in my area. There are times when the satellite is very slow. After checking everything from the ISP (MSN and GTE) to Cyber, I've concluded that occasionally DirecPC has problems with their gateways. They even admitted this. But this has only happened a few times and doesn't seem to delay the quote feed. I should point out that this technology (like everything with daytrading) is new and has some problems like a nightmarish setup, but I'll bet in a few months it will be great.

I like the satellite given it is my only real option. We may move to another location at which time, if I can't get ASDL, I may get frame relay. But, given my current rural location, I can't complain.

P.S. let me know if you have any other questions, I'll try to help
