Monty: **OT** Here is hoping we are on the sidelines during a big sell off or in a position short you feel comfortable with. E*Trade had internet trading service interruptions and busy phone lines. If I was in real trouble I was stuck...

As I said in an earlier post...after the close I was on hold for over two hours until I could talk to someone. Then he tried to tell me I had a good fill, yeah right.

I placed a limit-buy that I cancelled, with no confirmation until after the close (thirty minutes after the cancel) that it was filled. Since the new web site came online, I have been having problems with slow fills from E*Trade. (One market buy took thirty minutes and I had to call and bitch to find out it was filled.) Of course, I qualify for the platinum service upgrade thingy, but since the middle of December 98, E*Trade gets very little of my business.

In addition, I can not tell you how many potential trades of late with E*Trade, took so long waiting on the new web site to reply, load etc., that the price ran through my window of opportunity before I could execute the order.

When in doubt I use Fidelity over the phone.

Regards,
LG

Monty: I remember in October of 97 (The day of the standing record volume) I could not get through to my broker any way I tried.
