Me padre was n ngineer. As he observed when he got to pipe fitting skule he found the upper class guys ( 5th week) saying "when I got hear 5 weeks ago I cuddint spel ngineer and now I are one" I have never met an nginear who I did not have the fondest effection for as to their quaint and lovable attempts to spell the English language. Occasionally I would surprise one in the halls with a D. Duck illustrated memoir, with his brawny finger on the letters, squinting and his mouth moving.. "what! no football practice?" I would say sharply .. flustered, he would shove the volume into his gym bag.. I knew that none of them wanted us artsies suspecting that they were literati. EC :)
