I have no idea if it was money well spent. I ask you because you are the one claiming conspiracy. So far all you have is supostion based on circumstantial evidence. You say you smell fish. I say, of course you do, you are standing in a fish market?

If you are right that interent ads are never money well spent, then very quickly, within a quarter or two, that money will dry up. We shall see.

Let's revisit this in the fall.

Since E*Trade went into partnership with Softbank for the sole purpose of bringing their service to Japan, you can bet the money was spent for a commerce deal specifically with Yahoo Japan. In that case it is money very-well spent, since Yahoo Japan is the #1 website there.
