This is the exact type of rhetoric that I was hearing last summer. I think the best answer I heard for it was: If you excluded all the high priced ones- you should also exclude all the low price ones AND- waa-laaa you have the same P/E.

BTW - An article the local Sunday Business section was in summary about how we're at a new level, and stocks SHOULD be worth 50 to 100 times earnings now. Complete drivel. There's a special place in hell reserved for that writer.
