We had guests for Christmas week. They own a dog (didn't bring it thank gawd). They told me the end-all of "Folks who pick up dog waste" stories.
They went to a friend's house. The dog, who is perfectly housetrained, picked up the scent of toddler and promptly felt a need to personalize the living room carpet. When no one was looking.
Well, my friends and their friend were talking when the unmistakable redolence of canine debris wafted into the kitchen.
They looked for the source and found the offending material right on the big imitation Kerman in the living room.
And the one-year-old had discovered the tidy little pile and reorganized it as only babies can.
You talk about your fussy eaters, but the biggest piece was pressed into service as an organic pacifier.

This story is dedicated to the Helenator, who will be one on the 29th
