Colin: Multiple tick charts? I've had 6 or more running all at once. You were doing it wrong

Quick statement for someone that has no idea as to how I was doing it, don't you think? You have no idea as to my expertise with Computers and or Software. I have been evolved with computers since back when the IBM 360 was the state of the art system and we programmed them with punch cards and memory was core storage, forget about monitors.

I tell you what, I kept tick data updating on all the symbols in my quote window. I usually had three chart windows open and I use them to view any of the up to fifty issues in my quote window. I clear the symbols out of all the chart windows before I close the program each day and save that way. Then before the Market opens each day, one can key in all the symbols into one of the chart windows. All the symbols tick data will then update continuously during the trading day. One can easily look at any issue or indice in any of the three chart windows by simply typing in the symbol and pressing enter.

However, the above is fine until one incurs a long data interruption or you have to reboot the software and start over (for any reason) say about 2pm EST. Try it and see how long it takes to get all fifty symbols' tick data completely updated and ready to view at your whim. Then, you come back and tell me I am doing it wrong.

Of course, now that I have switched to QCharts, I will no longer have to worry about it happening again. I am no longer interested in discussing StockEdge Online.

Regards,
LG
