EMC is also, IMHO, in the DELL, CSCO, INTC class for those looking for a Long Term position.

Tim,

AMD was one of my best position plays this year, from 14 to mid 20.

I am into the hardware end of computers and everything I have read and talked to people about tells me two things about AMD.

1. Sales are very, very good. This quarter should be outstanding.

2. They will be entering the new K7-3 into the marketplace before the middle of this year, and it will be their first chip that will compete with the high end products offered by Intel. This new chip may exceed the performance of Intel in certain areas.

We might get a nice peek at how AMD will report by watching what Intel says on Tuesday. If it appears that their efforts to push the Celeron into the new niche that AMD has made have not been too successful, then I would guess that AMD has continued to ship tons of their chips to meet the high 4Q demand.

I have been giving this one a lot of thought recently and I have noted that the stock is in a little 2-3 point roll.

Good Luck and if I do some DD on this one I will post if the thread is interested.
