Sorry If I was unclear. This is not a PC question. It is an access problem.

I trade via internet and local line, no isdn, nothing sophisticated, no charts, nothing, not daytrading currently. I want a more reliable, faster system not subject to my local isp busy signal, so that I can daytrade. I frequently cannot get on my local provider because of busy signals. I have changed provider once already, not much selection here, the disadvantage of rural living. I will still maintain internet access for research and PC Quote, but I don't want to rely on it for trading. How do I solve this?

I don't know the questions to ask them, that's why I am here; I've not had luck getting straight answers from them. They are sales reps first and techies second.

I must confess I haven't called my cable access to inquire about that because they are not very knowledgable either and getting a return call is difficult enough when you simply want a basic cable hookup -- let alone have some technical question. Am I right in assuming that cable access is still just internet access, but much faster?

My question is: Given the expense (monthly) of ISDN or a T1 or whatever lines, wouldn't it be advisable, since my local telco connections (and my cable access) are marginable at best, to have a satellite hookup? I saw on SI that someone was connected to a broker I think in that manner. What hardware is required? With such a rig, can I then access CyberTrader or other daytrading broker?

This is probably still mud, but I'm TIA, go private if this is too far off topic.
