CNBC comment from stock analyst...
by: dowdtimo 15395 of 15414
did anyone see CNBC today? they have a segment called stock picking Friday and they have analysts on and they take calls from the audience. Somebody called and asked about LCOS and the analyst said that LCOS has half the market share of YHOO but sells at 1/10 the price and that she expects the sale of the company to be at the valuation of YHOO. she mentioned NBC as a possible suitor......

things look real good for next week as YHOO reports on Tuesday. LCOS should run all day Monday and Tuesday, at least. The volume today was massive and people should get pumped out over the weekend and come our buying like crazy on Monday and Tuesday.

I think you'll see at least $200 by the end of next week. My only concern is the float is much larger than most internet companies and this may keep things in check.....

CATH - I like like I hear and see from this store fundamentally speaking. There is not one out here in the NW that I can find. Is anyone familiar with this store and have one nearby? If so, next time you are close, stop in on a weekend and take a look at the store and tell me what you think. Good merchandise, prices, and are they busy? Speak with the Manager there and find out what she thinks about management and prospects of the future.

This may seem like a small step but you may be surprised what you can find out from managers of these stores. While I was travelling some years back I stopped in 3 of the Fifty-Off stores (FOFF)and spoke with management. They painted me a pretty bad picture, much different than what I heard from IR and PR announcements. Their same store sales had been slumping but when speaking with store personnel, it seemed much worse. I sold a couple weeks after that. Not long after that, they filed BK and dropped off trading altogether.

Too bad to because FOFF was one of my major success stories, and I traded them many, many times. Very sad to see them fail. They may still have a few stores up and going. Back then, their main competition was Dollar General and Family Dollar (FDO), FDO is doing very well now.

Anyway, CATH looks interesting...not a rocket but perhaps a good intermediate play with retailers coming back now.

PSFT - Don't get greedy here on this issue. Could go higher but I would be inclined to take the 24 here and look for high teens again.
