There is an easier and cheaper way - all you need is an AV card (you can get them for a couple of hundred bucks now, many PCs and Macs have them built in), and voila, you can connect your analog VCR and if so inclined, make digital quick time movies...and as far as storage is concerned, the future spells DVD for videos, 8 gig on one side, and soon doublesided 16 gig...

I ran across the following in a recent article that discusses some of the new "firewire" products:

"Apple Ignites Firewire At Macworld"

"Removable-storage vendor Iomega won't add a Firewire interface to its Jaz drives, but will instead soon offer a SCSI-to-Firewire cable to bridge the existing product"
