It's all a matter of timing, level and degree. Prescription brand-name drugs always go down in price over time, that is why cos. have new ones. It just so happens in this case that Monsanto is way ahead of the pack.

And in this case, there IS something that makes Celebrex stand out of the others in the class, which will hold its price up in comparison. Other drug companies hate this, that is why bad press has been surfacing...you are right about having a lot to protect.

Aren't we all a bit overconfident that the other drug makers will not reduce their pricing? They have an awful lot of market to protect and a price war would not bode well anyone. Or is there something that would prevent that?
