I'm not sure AOL has been performing poorly; it has had such a breathtaking climb over the past year that perhaps it is doing some consolidating (which I view as "resting": after a big run up). I am starting to wonder whether, with all this talk of AOL becoming the first internet blue chip, some investors believe it has peaked, and that other more exciting, non-blue chip internet stocks have more room to grow. I think this would be a wrong conclusion--it's the same boneheaded thinking that I exhibited in refusing to buy INTC about 100 points ago!
