Skeets, Barron's reported the bullish news about chip profits for the quarter, similar to but not exactly the same as the story I mentioned before. The 9 stocks in the chip index saw eps fall about 9% from last year's fourth quarter, according to First Call. This is on page 10 under the heading, Feeling Chipper.

I still haven't figured out how down 9% from disaster levels is a good thing, but First Call and Barron's seem to think so. <G>
