Paul:

Thanks for the news.

I have a question for you. I've been digging around the Intel web site on the I960 but I'm not technical enough to figure this out.

Do you know in what type of products the I960 chip is being used (i.e. video, servers, etc) and if Intel has started to really sell the chip?

Thanks in advance.

Tim

Paul,

By the way - if Merced sample DO SHIP at mid year, within a month or two of AMD's K7, the K7 may be relegated to non-server applications in light of Intel's Tanner and Cascades x86 Server chips plus the impending Merced chips.

I thought K7 samples were shipping already.

AMD is sort of like the Bronco's. It took them a lot of years to get going, but they are getting really hot now. Intel more closely resembles the 49'ers.

Paul: RE: 1999 is shaping up to be one HEckuva year for Intel.

Thanks for all the good news. I think I'll focus on the Merced samples and other positive press and forget about the irksome reporting of certain models of certain competitors.

The Intel faithful could fill a stadium and watch the scoreboard (earnings/stockprice/new products) together for the rest of 1999!

Nah. Shares are better than season tickets. Let's just watch the action from the comfort of home like the other big games <g>.
