May be we have rampant stock price inflation or something. May be the stock market will go straight up forever and a day and we will all be billionaires.

You may be on to something there. However, the world's economies have a way of compensating for all that wealth you might envision. For example, a loaf of bread for $100,000 or a can of beans at $110,000. A good steak might start at $1,000,000 and forget about dining out for lobster (unless you're one of the lucky trillionaires). Rampant inflation in the (stock) market will usually be closely followed by rampant inflation in the (super) market.
