Bill:
I don't seem to get here as often as I would like, but I wanted to post a short note on my timing work which some here know about. It's what I call Time Segment Analysis (TSA for short) and involves adding important time segment lengths to important historical anchor dates for gold and other investment entities.(Are there any?...;)

I have no idea why this should work, anymore than why Fibonacci price projections and that sort of thing do, but they do. What I look for are dates with a large numnber of "hits" from important past dates. Last year 9 January was one, and so were the August and October lows. Of course they don't all work or I would own Tahiti.

FWIW I did have 28 December and 4-6 January on the list. The latter two were tied to both 11 March 1993 and 18 January 1994, so their parentage is good. I did not post these here in advance but did do so at the Avid Chat site.

With gold having closed up (by a smidgen!) on 31 December year-over-year, and with other technical studies looking promising, we may get a good run this year. I have not been bullish for some time, although I LOVE gold, so don't throw me into the permabull camp.

I may have a freebie version of my annual year end piece up at Gold Eagle in about ten days, after subcribers have had a chance to read theirs. If so I'll post the URL here if anyone is interested.

Cheers!

Tom:

I thought Biggs was expecting another big stock drop soon.

The fanatacism of the gold bears on this thread convinces me more than ever that that the bottom is in and the next major move will be up. I doubt if there are 5 traditional goldbug types left, but anti-gold fanatics abound. Very constructive from a contrarian standpoint. Also constructive that the esoteric "science" of chart reading seems to play a big role in the super bear position. But still could be some time before the breakout.
