Welcome back Pete. We missed you. Tim sold half his position in Asnd on Friday and the stock immediately spiked up. (Thanks Tim) We should be getting our Stratus news this week. Plus lots of positive earnings reports. Anybody who dumps Ascend now will surely regret it. Pat Hughes

Paul Sagawa of Sanford Bernstein put out a VERY BULLISH report on ASND yesterday. I can not copy. But he goes on to say that. They are doing extremely well especially in CORE SWITCHING. He says that they increased market share in ATM by 3% last quarter. 1. ASND had batting average of 70% in 1997 in winning ATM contracts. 2. He expects at least 50% batting this year because of NN, CSCO improvemnts. 3. He believes that ASND has the best technology especially QOS, Reliability and network management and they are ahead by one year. They have next generation products in line by the time CSCO catches up with them. 4. DS3 Cards and OC48 cards are shipping in volume, contrary to some rumors that are spread over the CSCO thread. Overall he believes that momentum is very good and expects ASND to MAKE 1.79 1999. 16c above current consensus. Let CSCO enjoy the hype and ASND silently execute. BR
