Richard, My remark was tongue-in-cheek .... the average "Joe" certainly does NOT want to give up cash ..... but the "system" would love it. No more underground economy and prying eyes in every transaction by the government .... complete loss of monetary freedom .... gold IS freedom, as is cash. However debasing gold first .. then cash second, paves the way for economy by electrons ONLY. When there is no more cash ... how much will you get charged to use your e-cash card ... the ONLY means of exchange available at that point! MB
