1/10/99 - Russia"s gold reserves down 77mln USD by Jan 1.

MOSCOW January 10 (Itar-Tass) - Russia"s gold reserves fell by 77 million USD in the last week of 1998 and totaled 12.223 billion dollars as for January 1, 1999, the Central bank said Sunday.

Compared to the beginning of 1998, when Russian gold reserves comprised 17.784 billion dollars, they decreased 31.3 per cent.

Because the leader has more control over the pact, and POG, then the followers. And as such is more correlated with the Canadain dollar, BP, and USD, then others. {they push more GOLD around}
