Net2phone Direct does not require any software nor a computer. Using a regular phone the caller dials a local access number, his account number and the number he wants to dial. IDT's computer connects the call via the internet, and neither the caller nor the person called can detect that the internet is being used. Its just like a regular phone call with 3 exceptions: (1) the caller dials a local access number and his account number, (2) the caller pre-pays for his long distance with his credit card by calling IDT ($25.00 pre-paid at the time, 500 domestic U.S. minutes), and (3) IT COSTS A LOT LESS .

(I store my local access and account number in my phone memory on my desk, so its really easy to save money on my Net2phone calls.
