Ali,

When I thanked him for the history lesson, I was being facetious, I assure you.

My company is currently experiencing a few challenges with the Star Wars chemical laser we are now developing for eventual deployment in the Middle East. After reading about his performance in the history you provided, I think I'll pass on asking ol' Paul to share his expertise, even if it does supposedly lie in chemical engineering and not electronics. MIT, huh? Kinda makes me glad I went to Cornell instead. They taught us all about corrosion and how not to hot-wire fuses there!

"One theory among the locals, he said, was that communists had actually launched a rocket at the Intel plant during the night. That was not Engel's only brush with Intel's insurers."

Hey, too bad our laser wasn't ready back then. We coulda knocked that big bad rocket right out of the sky and saved Paul's plant!

Hey Paul,

Next time your Intel buddies have a problem with those terrorist rockets, feel free to give us a call, will ya?

The very thought of all those overpriced, underperforming chips getting blown to smithereens just makes me cringe. AMD couldn't possibly make up the demand at this time. That will change eventually, of course. ;^)

Oh, but wait, that's right, I forgot. There ain't gonna BE no AMD soon. Boy, I had better short Dell and Compaq, 'cause they're gonna be in deep weeds with all those chips blown up.

P.S. You're a chemical engineer, right?

Do you know what deuterium fluoride is?
