<<If apple's QT 4 offers a free viewer and free server, how does Apple benefit from this?>>

The only business model I can guess at would be AAPL maximizing their advertising revenue by the free distribution of QT4. If I can save 30 dollars and get a viewer that is at least as good as RNWKs, I'm probably going to do it - and I don't think I'll be alone.

Also, IMO, the biggest hurdle facing RNWK, besides competition from other sources, is the advent of increased bandwidth and probable cable access to the home computer. Who is going to need any kind of streaming video player at all - be it AAPL's or RNWK?

We're going to get our video directed to us in real time which will be more than likely controlled, manipulated and stored by a source outside of our desktop and linked to us globally and corporately....
