I believe the Sympatico feed is going to be 1Mb/sec which would run slower than cable? I also seem to remember that something like 40% of people will not be able to run ADSL because of there distance from the backbone? All of this is off the top of my so could be wrong. One big advantage cable has is it is here up and running. I have been running my cable modem for about a year and a half and I am very pleased with it. The direction and use of the web becomes clearer at these speeds. Geoff.

ADSL numbers are much higher than for rogers/shaw cable ... download speed for ADSL is up-to 4,5 Mb/sec in ideal conditions , and even if i go tu the speed test site i am around 2.8Mb/sec upload is slower say around 300kb/sec ... cable connection is not even close to it ... the second thing is -- everybody has to go with the outfit which he can get in his/hers area .. for instance i do have roger cable for tv , but can't get their internet hook-up , they are not reafdy in my area yet ... best ... tlb ok
