I see Gary North has a sense of humor, and provides a forum for people to disagree with him. That's good sportsmanship.

They said microwave ovens could be affected. My question is WHY? Why does the oven care what date it is. When you unplug it, is there a battery inside that keeps time? No when you unplug it you loose the time, and have to manually reset it.

So why do we keep hearing about Mircowave Ovens and Y2K??

Microwave ovens are not like a computer, when your battery dies in your computer and you unplug it, then you have to manually set the date, it will default back to 1980.

Microwave ovens are not computers. They cook food. They don't care if it's 1900 or 2009.
