To All, Our local chain (Shaws) tried also and failed but that was three years ago before the latest boom. If you live in a heavy traffic area and spend 12 hours a day working or getting there, PPOD has a great service. Also when you log on they remember your shopping list from previous visits and you can use this for a reminder. Another advantage is the entire store inventory is listed with flags for all items on sale, all automatic and updated each week. Lots of pluses to being able to scan the stores inventory. We live in a very competitive market and Stop & Shop offers the service but Shaws doesn't. Guess who gets the business? Here's a copy of my welcome to PPOD letter which arrived instantly after I visited their site: Dear Peapod Customer: Welcome! We're delighted that you've visited with us at Peapod.
