Broadband will address the savvier crowd, plus the ads will change, AOL will adapt to that change. There will always be ad dollars, as long as there is eyeballs to catch. AOL and other portals will become channels, just like today viewers have favorite stations they like to watch, the same is true and will always be true for the portals that make it to that level. Content and how we view it has always changed, be it TV or newsprint where content is force feed, or portals were one has a choice. Key word is choice in that last sentence, broadband will change the internet in many ways for the good, the interactive experience will be much richer, it will be years before the full glory of broadband will be developed. So in closing, I do not see the problems you see having an impact anytime soon.
