Dale,

Great post on the values of competition to the consumer.

Intel is perking up and taking AMD seriously finally.

However it may be too late.

If the k-3 does come out at 400-450 speeds this quarter in plentifull supply then Intel is in big trouble.

Intel slashed Celery prices twice last quarter to kill off AMD and have had to rush the 400 to market early as the K6 hordes breach the marketplace. Intel has no creditable counter to K-3's as their performance is even higher than the forthcoming Katmai devices.

I think the business market will buy K-3's in droves for their high performance and value vs Katmai.

Katmai will have a major ad blitz but most people particularly IT managers know that it will be a major waste of time for business apps (just like 3d now from AMD).

It's gonna be a great quarter to watch Paul and his alter-egos squirm as AMD gains market share, increases profits, and takes close to 30-40% market share.

Regards,

Kash

Thanks for pointing that out.

Now we all know that Intel is a better company than AMD.
