Jimbo, thanks for your response. I guess the primary attraction is the low dollar cost, $175. per contract. It seems that if I'm going to make any money, Dell would have to make a strong move upward in a short period of time (i.e. 8 to 10 pt move or more in the next week or two) and then sell the options.

A sobering thought to buying the 90 feb call is that the feb 80 call is only trading at $500 per contract with 7 weeks to go before expiration and the stock is fairly close to 80, at 77 5/8 at jan 8th close.
