Bill / Preferred Shares Of Gulf Canada Resources

It still boils down to the company itself as to whether I would buy any shares in the company. If the preferred shares offer the kind of return you have mentioned, it is somewhat attractive. The one negative concern is the possibility of the company reducing or eliminating dividend payments over the near term. The company, along with all producers, is not on sound financial footing due to the low oil price scenario. Therein lies the risk and probably the reason why investors are avoiding these shares.

I would think Moody's would have a rating on the company and that is one area I would like to check first. Second, I would want to know the basic terms/conditions regarding the preferred shares.
