A strict synthetic long uses the same strike and expiry month, have done them often in the pass.

On volatile stocks that I am confident of, combos are more profitable. That is, leg into the call side if the market is nebulous, less capital is exposed and then leg into selling the puts as the market firms and sell puts at increasing higher strikes as the stock moves up.
