As you probably know, Sean, this isn't surprising, since all but the more recent PII 300s used .35 micron die sizes (I assume yours did?), thereby drawing much more power than the .25 micron celerons.

There's a fascinating wattage table on this somewhere online--I'll post if I can recall it for those interested.

And as you no doubt know better than I, a cool PC is a happy PC (stable, expandable, etc., not to mention potentially quieter--a big concern to me.) Reason number next why the 300a is a "screaming buy."
