All, Thought you might find the following article interesting. A year old and talking about the debate in Australia over shutting down the analogue(AMPS) system in favour(for Mqurice) of D-AMPS or CDMA. You may read such things as: "As it turned out, GSM proved to be a costly and unreliable technology unsuited for Australian conditions, and the capacity of GSM digital networks has only ever been a fraction of the numbers promised."
