Business Summary

Programmer's Paradise Inc. is an international direct marketer of software for microcomputers, servers and networks, operating through three distribution channels in the U.S. and Europe. For the nine months ended 9/30/98, revenues rose 38% to $158.4 million. Net income fell 31% to $1.8 million. Revenues benefitted from growth of the direct sales business and acquisitions.
Earnings were offset by a lower gross profit margin due to an unfavorable shift in the product mix.
