I predict gap open Monday... The Friday selloff we saw was a typical pattern of market makers unloading their positions before the weekend. They often do that just in case some kind of news comes out over the weekend that might erode their positions, but obviously that didn't happen. If anything, I saw more positive news on Internet stocks in the media over the weekend than I have seen in a long time. That refrain we were hearing earlier last week about "warnings that net stocks will go down in the new year." seem to have been completely erased from memory. I knew all along those warnings were nothing more than institutions trying to scare retail investors out of their shares. Obviously, it didn't work and now those firms are just going to have to bite the bullet and buy these stocks at higher prices than they wanted to. Too bad... :-)
