I took a few introductory courses on Word Perfect, Excel, Basic-- maybe, four years ago. I believe my husband wanted me to take Visual Basic. It wasn't even offered.

The courses were terrible!!! The teachers tried to teach three or four subjects in one term.

Why were the teachers so bad? Because anyone with experience and knowledge would not teach at a community college for $1,200 a quarter and no health benefits etc. Almost all the instructors were part time.

After I took those courses, I realized that, in our society, the lack of knowledge about technology could easily turn one into, a have not, a person who could not get a decent job.

Since that experience I have worried that the US might fall behind technologically because so many students refuse to study seriously.

I am amazed to see how US companies progress!!!! I hope that they can keep it up.

Best wishes,

Mephisto
