Brain,

with all due respect to AMAT, it doesn't belong in the same sentence as INTC, MSFT and CSCO.

$100 Billion market cap should be a minimum to be discussed in this esteemed company of market gorillas.

Back to CSCO, looking for $ 120 in quarter end run up to announcement of earnings.

Cheers,

Peppe

Brian, OFF TOPIC, AMAT, Re: "The real news is what they
will say in the CC; hopefully higher capex since AMAT is my largest position."

As I'm sure you know, Intel undertook serious cost spending analysis in the second half of last year. They later came out and said they could continue using a lot (I remember around 70%) of their chip manufacturing equipment even when going to 0.18 micron. As a result, I've been hoping AMAT's recovery (also as an AMAT stockholder) can occur without a "normal" set of new tools orders from Intel. Then again, with all the sold out stories from Intel, maybe it's all changed. I'll look for that question to be answered in the CC. Last CC, if you remember, Intel said they couldn't comment on their 1999 cap equip budget yet. We'll find it all out Tuesday afternoon.

Regards,

Tony
