Object Design Names Justin J. Perreault President and CEO

Robert N. Goldman to Remain Chairman of The Board


BURLINGTON, Mass., Jan. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Object Design, Inc. (Nasdaq: ODIS - news), the leading provider of object-oriented data management solutions for C++, Java and XML-based applications,, today announced that Justin J. Perreault has been named the company's new president and chief executive officer. Perreault, who had previously been the company's executive vice president and chief operating officer, succeeds Robert N. Goldman, who will continue to serve as the
company's chairman of the board.

''Justin and I have worked very closely together for the last three-and-a- half years at Object Design and we have grown the company and dramatically expanded our customer base,'' Goldman said. ''I look forward to continuing our work together as we both move into our new roles.''

Perreault joined Object Design as executive vice president and chief operating officer in November 1995. Prior to that time, he was a vice president with Harvard Management Company, where he made a number of venture investments in successful technology companies, and a management consultant with McKinsey & Company, Inc.
