Red Scouser, Trading for a Living by Dr. Elder was my first book when I started Technical Analysis. I have read since over 40 books(believe it or not!!). When a stock is creating a Flag or a Pennant, it will retrace but eventually move back up. I bought CPQ at 44 and it started creating a Flag after the Pennant. It went all the way down to 41.31 within the Flag but I knew all the time that it was going to close above the flag and exceed my initial purchase of 44 and continue its fast pace going up. The fluctuations you refer to are very normal during a Flag. It is the result of consolidation. CPQ hit a new high last Friday so the trend is up and as strong as ever!!
I expect CPQ this week and next week to make some real advances totaling 10 dollars or more. Soon or later it will happen.

Good trading,

Christopher
