I heard today that Vegas houses had one of their best days in many years, because of that 2-point conversion. They had taken a ton of action on the Falcons. Makes you wonder if Jerry Markbreit had some dough on the Niners . . .

...do not believe instant replay would have reversed the call...

The call was TD. It was then reversed to Niners' ball. If there was instant replay, the refs would have gone with TD, since they didn't toss out the beanbag. Then, the booth would have said inconclusive, TD stands. Game over.

What was controversial about the call is that it was a bang-bang play, and ruled as a fumble by the ref who was closest, hence no beanbag. Then, afterwards, a linesman with a bad view called it down. You don't overturn a call long afterwards unless there was a gross error. That's typical Jerry Markbreit officiating. Red Cashion would never have blown that one.

I'm not calling you a Forty-Whiner, that's reserved for Jerry Rice. <g>
