>> I hear you saying this is not true? <<

I am saying that Murphy has, for years, been one of the worst. But, yes, some individuals that have documented public calls in the sector have done well.

>> As to the track record you must understand that the length of time of the sample provided as well as the sector (biotech) makes the 100% return, although commendable, less than something to write Mark Hulbert about. <<

Yes and no.... one year is a limited sample, yes...... but, no, biotech, with the exception of a few story stocks and a handfull of the top-tier, had a terrible year. Compare the VDXX performance with the two largest biotech mutual funds, Fidelity Select Biotech and Franklin Biotechnology. The comparison is all the more amazing when you realize that VDXX was weighted with bets in the second- and third-tier.

>> As a PHD I'm surprised you would put forward your "evidence" of performance in the way you have <<

I've been associated with the industry, in one form or another, since its inception. I've watched the analysts and newsletter editors come and go. Biotech analysis at SI is superior to anything that you can buy, one need only look for it.

>> Any you are giving 0 credence to someone who commands "some" respect in the investment community without supporting data. <<

The data is not hard to find. Nonetheless, I feel that the picks have been motivated purely by an intent to find good stocks, early. I therefore wish Murphy all the luck at superior performance going forward.

Rick

Or, better yet and more to the point, compare the performance of VDXX to Murphy's New Horizon fund.
