Larry, I am use to watching several indexes during the day, however when i put the s&p 500 symbol $spx.x it doesnt give me anything? what do i need to do to get the s&p 500 index quote? Make sure to use ALL CAPS when entering symbols into Real Tick III $SPX.X should work with no trouble. Can i also watch the s&p futures real time? Yes it costs, I believe $60 per month, its free if you do enough trades. The symbols change each quarter with the contracts. Right now Everyone is watching the March 99. You can watch the Globex for a pre-market look and then the pit during market hours: /SPC9 and /SPH9 i noticed when i was using the level 2 one of the headings were #best. i thought this was the shares the mm was offering to buy/sell, however after seeing your level two i realized there was a column with size. what is #best then on level 2 and do i need it? Best is the number of times a particular MM or ECN has been at the inside market - the BEST bid or offer. It is intended to help you determine who the bigger players are in a stock. I found it to be valueless for me. That does not mean it has no value, but I didn't get much from it, so i eliminated it. Can i use the mirc #daytraders within the browser window with mbtrader. it looks like you are using a chat area within your browser? That is a mirc window! Pretty good trick huh? Look carefully at YOUR mirc window. On the upper LEFT hand corner of your chat window you will see a small white square in the title bar. Left-click it. and select Desktop.
