Interesting article in the NYT this evening discussing the difficulty,at times, returning merchandise after purchasing goods online.

I'll bet there is a lot of brain power focused on how to get the cost of shipping books
down. In fact, when I buy only one or two items on-line, the shipping costs are a very
big percentage of the total, even when I opt for the lowest cost delivery option.

Jack,

I suspect the focus is not how to reduce the shipping costs charged to the customer since many people buy multiple items to offset the shipping charge. I believe a lot of brain power is focused on how to save the etailer costs such as the boxes, the labor, etc.
