What happened in 1997 was this:

INTC had been rising in price from around 80 in Aug 96 to the low 140's just before the blowout report of Jan 1997. The 2/1 split effective 7/97 was announced then too. The stock went to 165 by 2/1/97 before pulling back. By the split it was 150 and then after the split shot up to 100 in a month.

My thought is that this scenario could play out again. Could history repeat? Just a thought.

Sorry about that. I guess I'd just came over from the CSCO thread and hadn't shifted gears yet. I was thinking about what happened to CSCO back then.
