Jim,

That's a great article.

The race is seriously on.

I can't wait for the conference calls to compare Intel and AMD.

Regards,

Kash

Re: "Calm down, man. K7s can't be produced because Dresden is not quite up and running. I know you like to deal with the present and the past. This might help you understand the future. "

Sure sure, I know, that's the only thing holding up the K7, otherwise it's ready to go. .....Yawn.... Riiiiiggggggght....

As for the Mhz race, the numbers I have been seeing lately are so far beyond those claimed in that article that it's not worth taking seriously. Believe me, it's not in touch with what's coming. Intel is not showing it's hand and if that's all AMD has to play by 2000 then it's time for the fat lady to sign. Perhaps AMD is not showing it's true cards either.. You better hope so.

Jim,

Re: "This might help you understand the future.
techweb.com "

One quote that I find interesting is ... ""I kind of get a sense that
things may change in the latter part of this year, in terms of the top end
of the processor market," Patterson said. "Everything I've seen regarding
the K7 says it's going to be competitive with the Pentium II out of the
gate, with a strong possibility of actually being better."

Well Jim, that just fills me with confidence ... The K7 will be on par with
a PII. Maybe this was a typo ?? ... Did he mean PIII ?? I don't even know
if the PII will still be in production when the K7 comes out ... talk about
"trailing the target".

Make It So,
Yousef
