That's a phrase I have heard over and over for the last 6 months. All the people that used the phrase stood by the sidelines while the stock went up and up.

When I ask what the phrase means no one has a meaningful answer.

Usually, it's something they read in the paper.

If you state that a valuation is too high, it means that you know what the correct valuation should be. That means that you have figured out the Internet market, know how it works and what it is worth. A tremendous feat for a market that has not yet formed. You'll get the nobel prize for that if you can write it down and submit it to academic journals.

Buy when everyone was selling, and sell when everyone was buying

Yeah, great. There are a whole bunch of businesses in chapter 11. Stock is selling like mad. Time for you to buy.

150 points ago everyone was buying AMZN. So I guess that was a time not to buy. ATHM has just started going up and has a great future. Everyone is saying buy it. Your philosophy is not to buy.
